Born into a nest of musicians and trained in Catalonia and the United States, Meritxell Neddermann displays an extraordinarily acute sensibility. With her debut album, In the Backyard of the Castle, she dazzled us with her own intimate, ethereal sound characterised by a mix of genres (from classical to jazz, funk and indie) and her experimentation with loops, pedals and vocoder.

And now it's time to hear her second album, Suelta, released after a hiatus in her personal project so she could become Jorge Drexler's pianist on his international tour. Neddermann is now back onstage to present her record at La Mercè.

After studying with the best in Boston, and later living in New York, where she completed her training as an instrumentalist, composer and arranger with artists like Moha and CLAY, Meritxell Neddermann came back to Barcelona to develop new projects. One of them is Suelta, a hypnotic, captivating work. It is an attempt to show a feeling of physical freedom through music with ten of her own songs which she will perform in Spanish for the first time. Suelta will be released in November, but audiences will be able to hear and enjoy it at Música Mercè in September without having to wait.

Duration: 75 minutes.
