The Bike Festival and Bike Ride return on 5 October
Barcelona turns the bicycle into a synonym for sustainability, health and mobility, inviting everybody to enjoy the city on two wheels.
The Barcelona Bike Festival and Bike Ride is back, an unmissable event for enjoying sustainable two-wheeled transport together. This year, the Bike Festival will take place on Passeig de Lluís Companys, on Sunday, 5 October 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with activities for young and old, music, workshops, a fair of organisations and a great desire to move towards more sustainable mobility.
Bike Ride route
The Bike Ride will start at 10:00 a.m. on Carrer Aragó , between Passeig de Sant Joan and Carrer Sicília, and the route will then take riders along Aragó as far as Carrer de Vilamarí, before coming back along Floridablanca, passing through Pl. Universitat, Pl. Urquinaona and Passeig Pujades to finish on Passeig de Lluís Companys. This year will not feature the traditional ride through Plaça Espanya due to the works, but the essence of the route remains the same: to enjoy Barcelona in a different, safe and healthy way with the aim of promoting more active mobility.
With more than 3,500 cyclists expected to take part, the Bike Ride is one of the most eagerly awaited events of the season, a festival where families, friends and cycling enthusiasts gather to ride through the city together in a festive and protest atmosphere. This event, organised by the Manager’s Office for Mobility, Infrastructure and Works, has the support of the Barcelona Institute of Sports, the Guàrdia Urbana and various entities from the Mobility Pact, which work together to promote a cleaner and more efficient city model.
Bike Festival
Throughout the morning, Passeig de Lluís Companys will be transformed into the setting of the Bike Festival, a fun and informative space where the bicycle will be the main protagonist. You’ll find a fair for commerce and organisations, with activities for visitors to discover the latest in cycling, try bikes, discover initiatives and share experiences. There will be activities for people of all ages, plus competitions and draws for items linked to the world of the bicycle.
With an eye on the Tour de France
As a notable feature this year, the Bike Festival will also serve as a warm-up event for the 2026 Tour de France, which for the first time will start in Barcelona, marking the Grand Départ of the 113th edition of the race. At the exhibition point “Barcelona i el Tour, un bon tàndem”, (Barcelona and the Tour, a good tandem), you will have the chance to see the official trophy, a Tour jersey and take photos at a dynamic stand where you can experience the sporting spirit of this international competition first-hand.
