Mobility in Montjuïc

Mobility in Montjuïc during Futbol Club Barcelona matches at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium

During the 2025–2026 season matches in which FC Barcelona plays at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, as in previous seasons, there will be some changes to mobility around Montjuïc Park on match days.

Anyone intending to enter Montjuïc is recommended to do so on foot, by public transport, or by bicycle, as the circulation of private motor vehicles will be restricted, and people may only enter the areas around the stadium if they have the appropriate accreditation.

How to get to Parc de Montjuïc on match days

NOTICE: Between October 13 and November 12, the four new escalators between Passeig Forestier and the parking area next to the MNAC will be dismantled and installed. These two sections, both uphill and downhill, will be out of service during this period. For safety reasons, the pedestrian path that runs between the affected escalator sections will be closed during access and evacuation of large-scale events. Signage for alternative stairs and ramps will be available at all times.

This is the best and healthiest way to reach the stadium! You can walk there from Plaça d’Espanya, through the Park, or by using the escalators.
You can also reach the stadium from Zona Franca, along Carrer del Foc or Avinguda de Miramar, if you use the funicular railway first.

This is another recommended option for getting around Parc de Montjuïc on match days. What options are available?

  • Free shuttle bus service: leaving from Plaça d’Espanya or the Fira 2 car park and ending at the stadium area. The service will start two hours before kick-off and finish 1.5 hours after the final whistle, with buses passing at 3 to 4-minute intervals.
  • Regular bus lines that reach areas near the Olympic Stadium: lines 13, 55 and 150, 23 and 125.
  • The Montjuïc Funicular Railway: will be closed from October 20 until March 2026 due to construction work on the Vila i Vilà street sewer system. An alternative bus service will be available.
  • Metro or FGC railway: To get to Montjuïc, you can use the following stations around the mountain:
    • Espanya (L1, L3, L8 and other lines of FGC)
    • El Poble-sec (L3)
    • Paral·lel (L2, L3)
    • Foc (L10 South)
    • Foneria (L10 South)
    • Magòria - La Campana (L8 and other FGC lines)
  • Regular bus lines that reach Plaça d’Espanya (D40, H12, H16, V7 and V9) and Passeig de la Zona Franca (13, 23, 55, 125 and 150).
  • Taxi: there will be various taxi ranks around the Stadium area.

This is also a good way to get there! You can get to the stadium by using the current roadway routes.

Cyclists will have unrestricted access to the mountain up to the security perimeter, where they will be asked to get off their bicycles in order to ensure peaceful coexistence with all other users.

You’ll find 8 new Bicing stations in Montjuïc and the surrounding area. In addition, bicycle parking will be provided along the route, as well as a storage area for electric scooters and bicycles in this same zone.

Around the Stadium, and more specifically on Carrer del Doctor Font i Quer and Passeig del Migdia, there will be a space for parking motorcycles, with around 3,500 places. Motorcycles can enter these parking areas without any need for special accreditation until their capacity is reached.

When leaving matches, it is recommended that motorcycles in the designated parking areas should head along Avinguda de Miramar in order to avoid congestion and to ensure the smooth operation of the various modes of transport. Motorcycles that are parked in the parking area on Passeig del Migdia can leave via Carrer del Foc.

Access to the area by private cars will be limited to three hours before the start of the match. You are recommended to avoid this means of transport for entering Parc de Montjuïc.

If you have to enter the park by car, you should remember that there are areas of Parc de Montjuïc that will be totally restricted and areas where you may only enter with the appropriate accreditation. You should also remember that there will be control points distributed around the affected area and that unauthorised vehicles will not be able to follow their regular routes.

These areas are:

  • Zone 0: The area nearest to the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, where no vehicle may enter: Avinguda de l’Estadi (between Picornell and Museu Olímpic) and Passeig Olímpic (between the roundabout and the junction with Carrer del Doctor Font i Quer, until linking up with the roundabout on Avinguda de l’Estadi with the Museu Olímpic).
  • Zone 1: The area nearest the Olympic Ring, with access exclusively for vehicles authorised by Futbol Club Barcelona or those with the necessary authorisation that need to go to any of the other facilities in this area. There will be specific parking areas inside this zone for authorised.  The scope includes: People with the appropriate accreditation may enter the car parks of the facilities located in this area: Jardí Botànic, INEFC, CEM Bernat Picornell Swimming Pool, INEFC, Residència 3 Pins and Aspace-CIM.  People going to the car parks at CEM Pau Negre, Olympic and Sports Museum, the Montjuïc Municipal Model Aeroplane Field, and the Pérez de Rozas Baseball Field will also have accreditation.
  • Everywhere else in Parc de Montjuïc: Vehicles may circulate, but during the match, there will be access control points, and it will not be possible to cross the mountain from one side to the other. In any event, people using the following facilities do not need any accreditation, but they must know where the control points are located and adapt their regular routes: Montjuïc Municipal Swimming Pool (diving) and Restaurant El Xalet, Esfèric, TMB Centre Miramar, Tir Olímpic, Montjuïc Castle, Tir amb Arc, Escola Tres Pins, Escola de Bosc (primary and secondary schools), Barcelona Institute of Sport (Tres Pins) and Joan Miró Foundation. The residents of Can Clos and Polvorí will be able to access their respective neighbourhoods through alternative access routes but also if necessary through the checkpoint on Carrer Foc.

For all other facilities located in Parc de Montjuïc, it will not be necessary to pass through any control points or have a specific accreditation, although it will be necessary to follow a different itinerary to the usual one.

Car parks

The following car parks are located around Parc de Montjuïc: B:SM Rius i Taulet, Poble Espanyol car park, B:SM Ciutat del Teatre - Montjuïc and Fira 2 car park, where one of the two stadium shuttles leaves from.

Resident parking places for local residents in the neighbourhoods of Font de la Guatlla and the upper part of Poble-sec

On match days, the Green Area spaces in the nearest streets will be exclusively for residents, meaning that parking will be forbidden to vehicles without a resident's ID. In the zones on Carrer de la Font Florida, Carrer de la Guatlla, Avinguda dels Montanyans, part of Carrer de la Guàrdia Urbana i Carrer Llança, Passeig de Santa Madrona, Passeig de l’Exposició and Passeig de Miramar.
