How does Barcelona’s transport system work?
Open days for transport facilities and services. From 12 to 14 September 2025.
How are metro trains repaired? What’s involved in learning to be a train driver? How are the city’s tunnels and traffic managed? How does the Bicing service work? Where are the Guàrdia Urbana city police’s Mounted Unit horses trained? How does Tibidabo’s Cuca de Llum funicular work?
If you’ve ever asked yourself any of these questions, you can’t miss European Mobility Week on Friday 12 September and the weekend of 13 and 14 September, where you’ll be able to learn firsthand how the city’s mobility services and transport work.
And to give more visibility to the Week and coinciding with the "Obrim Carrers", during the same weekend, TMB will also install a historic bus in Gran de Gràcia, on Saturday 13th and on the Sants – Creu Coberta axis on Sunday 14th September, with free access for everyone.
Check out one or more of these open days at various city facilities, operators and mobility services. You’ll get an inside look at what the public doesn’t usually see and discover fun facts about how these services work on a day-to-day basis.
To sign up, fill in the form for each of the activities. There are different time slots for each activity during the weekend. If the activity you’re interested in is fully booked, check the page again in the following days, because there may be cancellations.
