Disruptions to mobility for El Corte Inglés fun run

The run sets off from Av. Diagonal, 617, on Sunday at 9 am, with the finish line in Pl. Catalunya until 11.30 am. All streets making up the route will be closed to traffic. People are advised to use the metro to get to and from any affected areas.

The route for the run on Sunday 11 May is as follows:

Av. Diagonal (both central road sections) – Pl. Francesc Macià (side nearest the sea and two lanes of the road on the side nearest the mountains) – Av.  Diagonal (both central road sections) – Pl. Cinc d’Oros (side nearest the sea) – Pg. Gràcia (both central road sections) – Aragó – Viladomat – Gran Via CC (3 lanes, central section on the side nearest the sea, from Viladomat to Rbla. de Catalunya) – Gran Via CC (side nearest the sea, from Rbla. de Catalunya to Pg. de Gràcia) – Gran Via CC (3 lanes, central section on the side nearest the sea, from Pg. de Gràcia to Pl. Tetuan) – Pl. Tetuan (side nearest  the sea) – Gran Via CC (3 lanes, central section on the side nearest the sea, from Pl. Tetuan to Marina) – Marina (2 lanes nearest the Llobregat and one lane nearest  the Besòs, in the opposite direction) – Casp (in the opposite direction) – Pau Claris – Rda. Sant Pere – Pl. Catalunya.

From 5 am on Sunday there will be some occasional traffic restrictions to allow for the start and finish lines and refreshment points to be set up.

As from 7.30 am, traffic will be closed in:

  • Diagonal, between Joan XXIII and Joan Güell (side nearest the sea).
  • Diagonal, between Pl. Pius XII and John Maynard Keynes (central section, outbound).
  • Pius XII – Av. de Pedralbes.
  • Pedralbes, descending side, between Manuel Girona and Av. Diagonal.
  • Gran Via de Carles III – Pl. Reina Maria Cristina (side nearest the Besòs).
  • Joan Güell, between Europa and Av. Diagonal.

Dismantling will begin as soon as the spaces occupied by athletes and spectators are freed up.

Parking

From 9 pm on 9 May to 12 noon on Sunday it will not be possible to park vehicles in C/ Viladomat, from Aragó to Gran Via CC (side nearest the Llobregat, bus lane).

From 6 pm on Saturday to 12 noon on Sunday it will not be possible to park in:

  • Aragó – Viladomat (side nearest the Besòs – sea), motorcycles on roads.
  • Viladomat, from Aragó to Gran Via CC (side nearest the Besòs).
  • Casp, from Pau Claris to Marina (both sides).
  • Casp – Pau Claris (side nearest the Besòs – sea), motorcycles on roads,
  • Sant Pere, from Pl. Urquinaona to Pl. Catalunya (both sides), including motorcycles on pavements.
  • Sant Pere – Pl. Catalunya (corner nearest the sea – Besòs), motorcycles on roads.
  • Catalunya (side nearest the mountains, sea), including motorcycles on pavements.
  • Catalunya (side nearest the Llobregat), including motorcycles on pavements.

From 5 am to 12 noon on Sunday it will not be possible to park in:

  • Francesc Macià (side nearest the sea), taxi rank.
  • Catalunya (side nearest the Besós), both road surfaces.

Vehicles that remain parked in these streets despite the signage may be removed by the BSM towing service.

Vehicles that remain parked on streets around the route where parking has not been expressly prohibited will be immobilised to prevent them being moved during the event, from 8.30 am to 12 noon on Sunday:

  • Pg. de Gràcia, from Mallorca to Aragó (side lane nearest the Llobregat).
  • Aragó, from Pg. de Gràcia to Casanova (side nearest the sea).
  • Aragó – Viladomat (corner Besòs – sea).
  • Comte Borrell, from Consell de Cent to Gran Via CC (both sides).
  • Diputació, from Comte Urgell to Viladomat (both sides).
  • Gran Via CC – Bailèn (corner Besòs – sea).
  • Marina, from Gran Via CC to Casp (side nearest the Llobregat).
  • Casp, from Pg. de Gràcia to Pau Claris (both sides).
  • Pg. de Gracia, from Gran Via CC to Pl. Catalunya (both side lanes).
  • Bruc, from Gran Via CC to Casp (both sides).
  • Girona, from Casp to Gran Via CC (both sides).
  • Bailèn, from Gran Via CC to Casp (both sides).
  • Roger de Flor, from Casp to Gran Via CC (both sides).
  • Nàpols, from Gran Via CC to Casp (both sides).
  • Sicília, from Casp to Gran Via CC (both sides).
  • Sardenya, from Gran Via CC to Casp (both sides).
  • Pl. de Catalunya, from Gran Via CC to Pl. Universitat (both sides).
  • Bergara, from Balmes to Pl. Catalunya, (both sides).

Vehicles parked in streets on the route where the run passes in the opposite direction to the usual traffic circulation will also be cordoned off (Avda. Diagonal, from Pere Duran Farell to Av. Pedralbes and Bergara).

The left-hand lane of Rda. Universitat will be available exclusively for those using the car park of the Hotel Exe Plaza Catalunya.

Public transport

Bicing stations affected by the by the route will be out of service.

The Trambaix service will be interrupted from 5 am, between the stations of Zona Universitària and Francesc Macià until runners have passed through this section.
