¡Cu-cut!, the weekly political satire and humorous magazine, is one of the greatest publications of all time on the Catalan journalism scene. Created by the cartoonist Gaietà Cornet – the creator of the popular peasant in a barretina hat that represents the magazine – it is a portrait of the social and political reality at that time. This 1st volume presents 448 visual jokes published in the period 1902–1906. The journalist and art critic Josep Maria Cadena offers technical details and historical context for each of them, resulting in a book that combines the beauty of the cartoons, the humour of the jokes and a glimpse of what life was like a century ago.
