Observations:
These magnolias were planted in 1877, during the last remodelling of the Barcelona Cathedral cloister garden, and have since grown very tall. For many years, orange trees, cypresses, lemon trees, weeping willows, olive trees, rose trees and some aromatic herbs were planted in the garden, and were always accompanied by various animals; today there are geese. Magnolias are slow growing trees, and stand out for their large, strongly scented flowers. These specimens at the Cathedral share their unusual age with the specimen which stands at the old Les Corts Town Hall.
