The Cadela Força Trilogy – Chapter II
TICKETS
Premiere in Barcelona

The first part of this trilogy on sexual violence is the focus of a trilogy was shown at during the 2023 Grec Festival. Now, the artist and company are focusing on the language of sexual violence in male codes and pacts.

Innovative as few artists are today and focused on the rawest and most direct ways of analysing and recreating sexual violence on stage, Carolina Bianchi and her company Cara de Cavalo shook the scene at major European theatre centres (from Avignon to Brussels) in 2023 with the first groundbreaking part of the Cadela Força (“Bitch Strength”) trilogy, The Bride and the Goodnight Cinderella.  The Brotherhood, meanwhile, focuses on the pacts, complicities, and male codes that open the door to sexual violence and lead to assault and rape, using the “brute force” that Bianchi and her team explore through the language of theatre. They use it to open the discussion, to link dramaturgy and trauma, and to seek, through radical poetry, the origins of misogyny and a sexuality in crisis.

A theatre director, writer, and Brazilian performer based in Europe since 2020, Carolina Bianchi is the creator of works that explore gender, sexual violence, and the history of art. Her stagings combine references to literature, cinema, painting, and music, and propose a constant confrontation with anything that seems like an absolute truth. The first part of the trilogy, The Bride and the Goodnight Cinderella (2023), will be followed this year by The Brotherhood. PreviouslyCarolina Bianchi and the Cara de Cavalo collective had produced the shows O Tremor Magnífico (2020), LOBO (2018), the performance art piece Quiero hacer el amor (2017), and the dramatic reading Mata-me de Prazer (2016).
