Xavier Bobés series

In three shows, this year’s Grec is showing the work of a unique creator who has made the objects he manipulates the raw material of exciting shows brimming with poetry.

Xavier Bobés, the creator of the company Playground, has been working with the Grec Festival de Barcelona in its past few editions. You may have seen him in shows which have freed objects from their banal, everyday nature to instead bedeck them in magic. The author of eight shows to date, Bobés has appeared at the Grec alone (Cosas que se olvidan fácilmente, Grec 2015, and Corpus, el 2020) and with the object detective agency El Solar, created with Jomi Oligor and Shaday Larios (Cuaderno de campo, Grec 2018). The artist’s latest shows include El mar: Visió d’uns nens que no l’han vist mai (TNC, 2022), which is still on tour.

In this year’s edition of the Grec Festival de Barcelona, you can see three shows, two of them created by Xavier Bobés but performed by other artists and a third one (Tumbalafusta) in which he is heavily involved. All the shows can be seen at different spaces in the Teatre Lliure Montjuïc.
