What does it take to connect with someone else? And what does this connection say about us? This piece talks about these questions, inspired by the experiences of Alice Bonazzi and Sara Marques, the two members of an artistic platform created in Manchester in 2018. They met as apprentices at Company Chameleon and have now choreographed an enquiry into human relations, conflict and care, as well as vulnerability and power. This is wrapped in a physical and emotional dialogue that challenges the conventional way of seeing women’s bodies and expressing women’s emotions. Capoeira, contact improvisation... these techniques are used to weave a language of movement based on the idea that women’s bodies have weight and can hold weight, but also display vulnerability. It’s a celebration of women’s resilience, sisterhood and emotional depth.
