A reference point in contemporary street dance, Manchester’s Company Chameleon is a trio that is at once powerful and nuanced, equal parts delicate and explosive. The title speaks for itself:, umbra means shadow in Latin, and this piece explores the light and darkness within each of us. What sets us apart? What unites us? 

Using the language of dance-theatre, this piece reflects on what we choose to show and what we choose to hide, depending on whom we’re speaking to. Physical, theatrical and dynamic, Umbra is a show that is both delicate and sensitive, an invitation to pause and get to know ourselves better. Can dance express social commentary or critique?
