Mobility device during the 37th America's Cup sailing competition
The 37th edition of the America's Cup will be held in Barcelona from 22 August to the end of October 2024.
It is the most important competition in the sport of sailing as it is considered one of the most difficult sporting challenges. It is also seen as the third most important sports event after the Olympic Games and the World Cup.
The event will take place in the Port Vell area along the beach to the Port Olímpic.
The regatta course will be set up in front of the beaches of Sant Sebastià, Sant Miquel, Barceloneta and Somorrostro.
Along the seafront between Plaça de la Carbonera and the Port Olímpic, the organisers plan to set up different areas with screens to follow the races live. There will also be different service and storage facilities: commercial stands, catering, stage, portaloos etc. With the exception of the AC Match and depending on the wind, the rest of the races will be held on Wednesdays, Fridays and at weekends.
As the competition is subject to the wind, the area and days of competition could be modified.
Important information
If you are travelling on foot, by bicycle or public transport, access to the area will be guaranteed. This also goes for the people living in Barceloneta.
Access by private vehicle may be restricted at certain times and in certain areas, according to the flow of spectators.
