Mobility and transport

This is the best way to reach and move around the various competition areas. There won't be any restrictions for pedestrians, and information on the best routes and spaces for arriving on foot will be provided. 

Public transport will reach all the event areas, and services will be increased on competition days when a greater number of spectators are expected to arrive.

By metro: the nearest stations to the area are Barceloneta, Ciutadella-Vila Olímpica, Bogatell and Llacuna on line L4; Drassanes on line L3 and Marina on line L1.

By bus: the main lines for reaching the event area are the D20, V15, V19, V23, V25, V27, H16 and 47.

By tram: you can use the Ciutadella/Vila Olímpica station.

Access via Taxis and vehicles with driver is guaranteed. 

Coaches: they can also travel to the area without restrictions, and there will be spaces where passengers can get on and off. 

The Bus Nàutic service is provided by the Port of Barcelona. A new maritime connection between the quays of Moll de Drassanes and Moll de Llevant to improve mobility between the port and the city. 

Schedules: From 7 in the morning until 7 pm.

Frequency: every 15 minutes.

Bicycle and personal mobility vehicles are guaranteed access to the area. They can use the new bicycle lane on Passeig de Joan de Borbó or other cycling routes, such as the bicycle lanes on Carrer de la Marina, Passeig de Picasso, Avinguda de les Drassanes, Avinguda del Paral·lel, Passeig de Colom and Carrer del Doctor Aiguader. 

In regard to the Bicing service, there will be two virtual stations in the area on the days with the maximum flow of visitors. These are special, signposted locations where Bicing users will be able to leave their bicycles easily and safely, increasing the station anchorages by 200 and 250 places.

There will also be safe parking spaces for bicycles and PMVs in closed, supervised enclosures. There will be four differentiated spaces with an approximate capacity of 100 vehicles each. They will be located in the areas around Plaça del Mar, the Biomedical Research Centre, Port Olímpic and Platja del Bogatell. They will be in service throughout the competition.

Many car parks in the area also offer safe parking services for bicycles. This information can be found on the Com s’hi va [How to Get There] website.

It is not advisable to use private vehicles to travel around the area where the various America's Cup events are taking place because there may be traffic restrictions depending on the day, time and flow of visitors. 

If necessary, the Guàrdia Urbana police force will close roads to traffic according to what is needed at any given time. In these cases, control points will be set up, and only authorised vehicles and services will be able to pass.  

Anyone who lives or works in Barceloneta or has a parking place in the neighbourhood where they can leave their vehicle (green zone, public or private car park) will have a specific pass that will allow them to move around the competition area without any type of limitation. 

For visitors coming from outside the neighbourhood or the city, Ajuntament de Barcelona will set up Park and Ride car parks and shuttle buses, making it easy to leave cars and reach the competition area. 

There will be Park and Ride car park:

• Fòrum with 670 spaces. The days with the greatest flow of spectators: 7, 8, 14, 15, 28 and 29 September, and 5, 6, 12, 13, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 26 and 27 October.

Free shuttle bus service from the Park and Ride car parks, with bus routes, which will be operational on the days with the greatest flow of spectators:

Motorbikes and mopeds can reach the competition area without any restrictions or the need for a pass, and parking areas will be set up in the area, but with limitations according to demand and parking capacity.

Urban Goods distribution (DUM in Catalan) can be carried out without any traffic restrictions. In order to minimise any disruptions that the event may cause for this activity, the period for loading and unloading will be extended at the start and end of the day, with the new schedule set from 7 am to 9 pm. 

• Vehicles with a resident space in the Barceloneta Residents Zone (AREA) or with a parking space in car parks run by BSM or those in the Port of Barcelona area. These people will receive a pass, delivered to their homes, which must be clearly displayed on their vehicle during the competition period.
• People who own or rent a parking space in a facility that is not run by either the municipality or the Port of Barcelona. These people must apply for their pass in person at Barceloneta Civic Centre.  

These people will have an authorisation allowing them to access the area if there are mobility restrictions in certain streets, but they will have to drop their passengers and then leave; they will not be able to park. They will have to apply for their pass in person at Barceloneta Civic Centre.
