Montjuïc Park Council is a stable, permanent participatory body in the Sants-Montjuïc District. It was created in 2014 for the purpose of channelling and coordinating both the actions and running of Montjuïc Park.

Under the presidency of the Sants-Montjuïc District Councillor, the Council brings together representatives from the District’s various municipal groups and municipal services operating on the mountain, as well as people in charge of public entities, organisations, enterprises and/or associations that have a presence or influence on Montjuïc Park.

The Council’s functions, according to its Regulations, are:

  • To issue reports and proposals on the policies of the City Council’s bodies regarding the comprehensive management of Montjuïc Park and to promote study initiatives.
  • To find out about the municipal budgets corresponding to the policies, actions and services that are carried out in Montjuïc Park’s grounds.
  • To establish and maintain programme-contracts with Montjuïc Park’s various operators.
  • To coordinate all the internal information systems between the operators.
  • To promote and encourage the collaboration of the various entities, institutions, authorities and associations that have a presence in Montjuïc Park.
  • To carry out the functions of a consultative and participatory body regarding issues under municipal jurisdiction that are within the Montjuïc Park area.
