Pyromusical
The city’s annual festival rounds off on Monday at 10 pm with the traditional music and fireworks spectacle known as the Pyromusical on Montjuïc, at the Magic Fountain and in Av. Reina Maria Cristina. This year the event will be run by the pyrotechnic group Igual and will also feature a very special soundtrack: Sónar will provide the music to celebrate the festival’s 30 years of existence. Three decades of history condensed into 25 minutes, for Barcelona to bid farewell to Mercè 2023 while paying tribute to a great musical event that attracts thousands of visitors from half the world with each new edition.
Disruptions to mobility
Av. Reina Maria Cristina
Vehicle parking, including motorbikes on the pavement, will be strictly prohibited from 6 pm on 24 September until 1 am on 26 September on both sides, from Av. Rius i Taulet to Pl. Espanya.
Starting at 6 pm on 25 September, or before that if the crowds make it necessary, Av. Reina Maria Cristina will be closed to traffic.
For the Pyromusical on Monday at 10 pm, the entire zone will be cordoned off starting at 3 pm to prevent the use of all the stairs (including the brick ones) and ramps. Besides Av. Reina Maria Cristina, which will already be closed to traffic, Av. Montanyans, on the Besòs side of the Palau Nacional (both sides), will be closed from the Capella de Santa Madrona Poble-Sec to the back of the Palau Nacional. Av. Rius i Taulet and Av. Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia will also be closed (between Carrer Guàrdia Urbana and Carrer Mèxic).
