Montjuïc is to play host to the MTB Eliminator World Championship
The Catalan capital has been chosen once again as the host city for the UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup. The world’s best mountain bike riders, such as Hannah Beck and Simon Gutmann, will be competing during a day packed with adrenaline, excitement and technique, to achieve the shirt that will crown them on the international level.
The Eliminator is a cross country race where 4 runners will be competing together along a short circuit with numerous obstacles. As its name suggests, its format is intended as a knock-out round where the best two people in each category move to the following stage to reach the grand finale.
A spectacular descent with Down Urban Barcelona
In addition to the BTT Eliminator, one of the city’s most important urban descent races, Down Urban Barcelona is being held that same day, 2 October, as a new feature, and which will bring points UCI CLAUSE 2.
From the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium to Montjuïc’s Magic Fountain; this will be the route followed by the 80 cyclists once again changing forest and mountain for the excitement of Barcelona city centre’s stairs, road surfaces and pavements.
