Since it began in 2014, the Magic Line has grown year after year, becoming an unstoppable movement which has now spread to a number of other Spanish cities, such as Lleida, Valencia, Mallorca, Madrid, Murcia, and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. 100% of the funds raised through the Magic Line are used to support social and healthcare projects run by Sant Joan de Déu, which work to improve the lives of thousands of people in vulnerable situations.

In Barcelona, the Magic Line offers seven recommended routes, although teams may also register to follow a route of their own choosing. The Collserola North route (20 km) starts at Plaça de Pep Ventura, passes through Tibidabo, and descends via the natural park to Avinguda del Tibidabo. At Parc de Monterols, it meets the Turons route (19 km). It then continues towards Montjuïc and, after passing the Olympic Ring, reaches the Magic Line SJD Celebration Area, with entertainment, music, refreshments, and a picnic zone where participants can relax and enjoy the event. All routes end at La Catedral de Barcelona.

The Collserola South route (19 km) begins in Vallvidrera and passes the Sant Joan de Déu Children’s Hospital and the Magic Line celebration area at the Olympic Ring in Montjuïc before also concluding at La Catedral de Barcelona. Some teams choose to shorten the route, starting instead at Sant Joan de Déu (14 km) or the Montjuïc Fountains (9 km). The Llobregat route (20 km) starts in Sant Boi and explores hidden corners of the Baix Llobregat before reaching Barcelona via Montjuïc. The CaixaBank teams begin their walk from their building in Magòria (8.5 km), in La Bordeta, crossing mainly through Parc de Montjuïc.
