New X3 bus line
The new X3 bus line will be launched next Monday, May 26, connecting Paral·lel to La Marina del Prat Vermell and Avinguda Carrilet (L'Hospitalet de Llobregat), taking a route similar to the future extension of metro line 2 when these works are completed with stops at Anella Olímpica, Carrer del Foc and Fira. This new express line will take over from the line 79 which currently covers a similar route.
The X3 line will cut the connection time between the city centre and Montjuïc, the new neighbourhood of Marina del Prat Vermell, the administrative district and the Fira, before heading on to the Logistics Park to connect with the L9 metro line to the Airport.
The new route will shorten the journey time as it will take a more direct route with fewer stops (37) than line 79, which it will replace. At the same time, the end of the line will be extended to the Paral·lel metro station. As a result, the new X3 line is set to become one of the fastest bus lines in the city.
Works around Plaça d’Espanya
During the first 16 months of service, the new X3 line will be diverted due to the expansion works of the FGC L8 being carried out in Plaça d’Espanya. As a result, heading towards Hospitalet, it will be diverted along Carrer Lleida and Avinguda de Rius i Taulet before resuming its normal route around Montjuïc.
