Technical halt in service at the Montjuïc funicular and cable car
The Montjuïc funicular and cable car will both be out of service for annual maintenance work from 30 January to 19 February (inclusive). A special bus service will be laid on during this period, substituting the funicular service and operating the same timetable and stops. TMB also offers the 150 bus service as an alternative for getting up the mountain from Pl. Espanya or reaching Montjuïc Castle.
The Montjuïc Funicular Railway is to close for its annual maintenance work from Monday, 30 January, to Sunday,19 February (inclusive). As an alternative means of getting up the mountain from the Paral·lel station (L2 and L3 metro), a special bus will be covering the route with the same timetable (Monday to Friday, 7.30 am to 8 pm, and Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 9 am to 8 pm). If you get off the metro at the Espanya stop (L1 and L3) and you want to get up the mountain, for instance as far as Montjuïc Castle, you then need to get the 150 bus.
The other cable transport operated by TMB here, the Montjuïc Cable Car will also be closed to the public temporarily for obligatory annual maintenance. This year’s technical halt will last three weeks and coincide completely with the halt in service at the funicular.
