Do bears dream? If you’d like to know the answer and hear the story of a friendship that transcends prejudices told in the language of the circus, come and see this family-friendly show. A refreshing story ... inspired by winter.

If you don’t know how to cope with the heat this July, come and see this contemporary circus company, which has set its third show in a winterscape. It is a story about friendship, a pure friendship between very different creatures, about how appearances can deceive, but above all it is an ode to the world of dreams ... and polar bears.

Snow, silence, dazzling brightness and a landscape in a thousand shades of white are the backdrop to the story of two characters who seek the warmth of companionship in this cold place. And so a friendship is born that overcomes prejudices, those walls that adults build but that have no place in the minds of children ... or bears. Descriptive instrumental music, performed live, will accompany the characters’ emotions and actions. The show will use the language of the circus to get its message across, with a demonstration of the Russian quadrant, a little-known aerial acrobatic technique performed by two people, and an exploration of the possibilities of a duo balancing ball act. You will also see an ancient Chinese dance performed at the beginning of each year, the famous lion dance, which has been transformed and adapted for the occasion.

All this is the work of Deborah ‘Debi’ Cobos Triano and Jordi Serra Baleri, two artists united by their love of circus and, in particular, the Russian quadrant acrobatic technique. Their first show, Ex-libris, which they are still touring with, premièred at the Circos de São Paulo Biennale in Brazil. They made their debut at the Grec in 2022 with Boira. They are now also developing Reditus, a project inspired by local legends and culture, from a contemporary perspective and in the language of the circus.

A project committed to site-specific shows and collaboration with different stakeholders, with which they have premièred Dones d’aigua [Waterwomen] and El pou de la gallina [The well and the hen].
