Walking tour: Discover Barcelona with the women who made history

BIW%20Tour%20dones-%20Web%20gran_plantilla%20%281%29.jpg

This activity will also be an opportunity to get closer to the careers of exceptional women who have played a key role in the history of our city, such as Clotilde Cerdà, Teresa Claramunt, Carme Karr, Martina Castells, Anaïs Napoleón or Marina Ginestà. Many of them are greatly unknown to even the locals themselves.

Through their biographies, we will take a historical journey between the 19th century and the middle of the 20th century: from the Barcelona of the Gold Rush, the arrival of modernity with the Universal Exhibition of 1888, the beginning of the 20th century and the proclamation of the 2nd Republic until the Spanish Civil War. The visit will begin in “El Paral.lel”, the great cultural hub of Barcelona, then to “Barrio Chino”, “El Raval”, and to finish the tour we will end up in “Las Ramblas”.

We advise you to come with comfortable shoes, clothes, with enough water to hydrate properly, and, above all, full of curiosity. The objective is to discover women who starred in the history of Barcelona and whose mark is still latent in our city.
