Educational Program
educational
The offer of educational activities at the Frederic Marès Museum includes guided tours and itineraries, dynamic visits and specific proposals for other groups, thus betting on the broader meaning of the term education, not exclusive to the school educational community.
This educational proposal makes the Museum's collections known to various audiences, adapting the contents to their needs.
Regarding the school public , there are three activities aimed at students from the second cycle of Primary and Secondary, designed to stimulate active and participative learning in the class group. The activities are focused on complementing the curricular contents based on the learning of work in values, such as gender inequality, the sexist roles of the toy world or the intergenerational dialogue that is established between children and adults.
In relation to groups , the proposed activities include guided visits to the Sculpture sections and the Collector's Cabinet of the Museum, visits with more transversal views of the collections, from literature, collecting or aesthetics, as well as an itinerary through the public sculpture of Frederic Marès that goes beyond the limits of the Museum.
The Museum participates in other projects educational programs such as the socio-educational program Approach Culture , an inclusive leisure initiative with the support and collaboration of the main public institutions, which offers guided tours for groups of people at risk of social exclusion with the aim of improving the lives of vulnerable people through culture.
It is also part of Heritage LAB , a transversal educational project for the interpretation and dissemination of the heritage of the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona, which links the collections of the heritage centers (ICUB) and educational centers of Barcelona.
To make museums known, disseminated and brought closer to the people who use Barcelona's municipal elderly homes and spaces and the VinclesBCN service, the Museums and Accessibility Board in collaboration with the Department of Promotion of Elderly People of Barcelona City Council offers two different initiatives: The biggest museum , which wants to approach heritage through a creative proposal through a photography workshop, and the program The museums are waiting for you , a cycle of guided tours, in face-to-face and virtual format, that stimulates learning and well-being and encourages socialization at all ages.
