The Frederic Marès Museum, as a study and research center, works together in two areas. On the one hand, within the field of documentation, it promotes the historical and artistic study of its works with the main objective of achieving the complete cataloging of the collections and, on the other hand, assigned to the Department of Preventive Conservation and Restoration, the task of carrying out the physical and chemical analysis of the works based on the needs of restoration, indispensable support for its historical documentation.
