In terms of preventive conservation, the Department of preventive conservation and restoration acts on the environmental control of the works, defines the systems and materials for exhibition and storage, and supervises the packaging and movement of the works. This department also determines the state of conservation of the works and objects that are requested as a loan by other museums or institutions, and the particular conservation conditions necessary for it to be feasible. It also undertakes its own mail tasks in the loan process.
