Study-library of Frederic Marès
Study-library of Frederic Marès
The Studio-library is the room where Frederic Marès, as director of the Museum, had his office and where he received visitors. There he kept his library, personal items, titles and awards, historical documentation of his collections and of the Museum and also part of his own sculptural work, which he donated to the city of Barcelona in 1988. This unique and lived-in space was designed ex professo in 1964 and did not become open to visitors until 1996, five years after his death.
On November 25, 2018, the new museum presentation was inaugurated as part of the events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Museum's official opening.
