Aureum opus  is a display of five centuries of illustrated books that the Association of Bibliophiles of Barcelona - to which Frederic Marès belonged -, together with the Frederic Marès Museum, wanted to dedicate to him as a tribute.

It invites you to take a tour of the history of illustration in Catalonia and is a testament to the love of books, so rooted in our country especially since the 19th century, following the Renaissance.

The new technologies, applied thanks to the collaboration of the Studies of Humanities and Philology of the Open University of Catalonia, also allow us to go virtually inside the pages of books, as well as in the workshops that over the centuries have been responsible for printing and illustrating books.
