The period between the end of the 16th century and the middle of the 18th century has been considered the golden age of Catalan ceramics, with a remarkable production, preferably from Barcelona, of which numerous examples are preserved.
In terms of color, at first cobalt blue and polychrome work coexisted, but as time went on, blue assumed much of the lead.
The Museum preserves a collection of around 20 blue ceramic dishes, in which a good part of the series established by scholars based on the elements of decorative borders are represented: sashes and ribbons, tie, sausage, dictation. As for the figure in the center of the plate, there are: characters, animals, ships, suns, anagrams and shields, among others.
