Conservation-restoration process of two sculptures from the 17th century, in polychrome wood
On the occasion of the temporary exhibition Women of Word , the interventions of conservation-restoration of two sculptures from the 17th century in polychrome wood from the permanent collection of Sculpture of the Museum.
The process was carried out between September and November 2024, prior to the opening of the exhibition, with the aim of improve your public presentation and take care of yours good conservation .
The two sculptures are:

The conservation-restoration process has consisted of surface cleaning, fixation of the pictorial layer in danger of detachment, cleaning of the polychromy, elimination of repainting, mainly at the base, with attenuation of small losses.
