Eusebi Arnau is considered one of the most outstanding sculptors of the late 19th and early 20th centuries in Spain.
Currently we find his works in the public space, given that much of his production was sculptures applied to architecture or intended for funeral grounds, and in the country's great art collections, as his extensive production also included exempt sculpture, medals and jewellery.
Educated at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, he continued his studies in Rome and Paris. He was a student of Agapit Vallmitjana, a renowned Catalan sculptor whose work is well represented in our museum, and master of the sculptors Pablo Gargallo, Josep Dunyach, Frederic Marès, Enric Monjo and Rafael Solanic, among others.
The Noblesa sculpture, an outstanding work of Eusebi Arnau's modernist production, was exhibited at Sala Parés in Barcelona in 1893 and appeared on the cover of the magazine "La Ilustración Artística" that same year.
