Votives The way, the promise and the destiny is an exhibition curated by Eliseu Carbonell and Bibiana Puigdefàbregas that presents the ex-vote at different moments in history and pushes us to think about these offerings made "in fulfillment of a vow or promise made during an individual or collective trance", which are the result of "a pact without intermediaries with the afterlife", according to the definition they give us in the exhibition.
The exhibition at the Museum of Painting in Sant Pol de Mar shows the pieces by the artists Perejaume and Josep de Ca l’Estrany, a cinematic ex-voto from the Municipal Archive of Blanes in which the pilgrimage to the Santuari del Vilar is seen in tribute to Joaquim Ruyra (1934), pieces from the Ethnographic Museum of Ripoll and the Frederic Marès Museum from Barcelona, as well as other ex-votos from private collections.
