The pillars of Europe. The Middle Ages at the British Museum raises one reinterpretation of the Middle Ages through 260 objects that come mostly from the collection of the British Museum . It is the first exhibition resulting from the four-year collaboration agreement signed between Obra Social ”la Caixa” and the British Museum.
For this exhibition, more than 260 pieces of great historical value are included, mostly from the collection of the London museum, one of the most important public collections in the world. At the same time, the exhibition is complemented by loans from the collections of the National Archaeological Museum of Madrid, the National Museum of Art of Catalonia and the Frederic Marès Museum . A total of 19 objects lent by Spanish collections contribute to explaining the history of the southern kingdoms framed within Europe.
