The exhibition addresses the first photographic procedure in history and its introduction in Spain.

The exhibition addresses the first photographic procedure in history and its introduction in Spain : from the engraving with which the sample begins, titled The daguerreotypomanie , to the creation of the first daguerreotype studies, passing through the technology of the new medium, the first views of Spain, its scientific use, the role of the aristocracy in the introduction of this or the development of the portrait induced by photographic merchants, with special attention to the daguerreotype in the city of Valencia.
The sample ends with a small selection of contemporary daguerreotypes as a current means of expression , even today, in the field of artistic creation.
This exhibition is the result of research carried out for the project Daguerreo base , a web platform aimed at collecting and preserving existing daguerreotypes in Europe.
