Frederic Marès gathered a large collection of photographs, about 4500, from the first daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, ferrotypes or business cards , as well as some cameras and other devices dating from the 1840s to the 1920s.
The exhibition shows us a representative selection and, at the same time, invites us to enter a dark room, to contemplate some stereoscopic photographs and to flip through the pages of albums, whose images constitute an evocative portrait of the past .
