Dedicating a space to the habit of smoking can be surprising from a contemporary perspective. The consumption of tobacco has given rise to great debates, but it is undeniable that over the centuries it has been a symbol of social, cultural and gender differentiation, and from the point of view of collecting, it has generated an inexhaustible source of objects suitable for collecting: pipes, cigar boxes, hip flasks, snuff boxes, lighters.
In this room we find a large number of these objects, many of which, beyond their basic function, become small artistic pieces, as is the case with pipes, cigar boxes or snuff boxes.
The graphic material is also very extensive: cigar rings, cigar brands, cigarette paper booklets, match boxes with their cards, among others. Its topics invite us to take a tour of the tastes and fashions of the 19th century and part of the 20th: politics, humor, historical figures, actors, and even the world of eroticism.
