Two bronzes by Emili Fontbona in the Museum Courtyard
From February 20 you can see the two bronze sculptures by Emili Fontbona (1897-1938) given to the Museum by Francesc Fontbona in the Patio Showcase:
Sailor from Tarragona and Woman from Amposta, dated 1902.
The edition of these two bronzes is an initiative of Francesc Fontbona, nephew and grandson of the sculptor and owner of the original clay sculptures, who authorized the edition in bronze to the promoters of the project, Núria Gil, professor at Rovira i Virgili University and Joan Sabaté, president of the Casino d'Amposta.
This unique edition is of limited edition, has been made in bronze with a brown patina and has been lent to some of the main museums in the country with the aim of disseminating the work of this sculptor: Museum of Montserrat , National Art Museum of Catalonia , Modern Art Museum of Tarragona and Frederic Marès Museum.
