The Seminari Conciliar de Barcelona and the University of Barcelona, ​​in collaboration with other depository institutions of the legacy of the Vallmitjana, have organized the Vallmitjana year  commemorating the centenary of the death of Venanci Vallmitjana. Throughout these months, the sculptural work of the brothers Venanci and Agapit Vallmitjana Barbany and of Agapit Vallmitjana Abarca, son and nephew respectively, will be remembered and studied. The Frederic Marès Museum, which has around forty works by the Vallmitjana brothers, is actively participating in this commemoration.

As a sample of his sculpture, we present these three works.

In room 28 on the first floor of the Museum, you will find a large part of the collection of works that we keep by these two key artists of Catalan and Hispanic sculpture of the 19th century.
