Bus on demand
El Meu Bus [My Bus] is Barcelona's bus on demand service. This service seeks to make it easier for the city's residents to move around certain neighbourhoods, taking into account their specific needs and the times at which they travel.
El Meu Bus began as a pilot test in Torre Baró in 2019 as part of the Pla de Barris [Neighbourhood Plan]. Given the success of the pilot test, which saw more than 850 users sign up to the service, the Barcelona City Council and TMB have highlighted the improvements that would result from the bus on demand service being introduced to areas in which there is a lower demand for bus services.
- A personalised service: the user decides when and where they want to travel.
- A quicker journey: the bus only stops at requested stops.
- A more efficient service: the bus doesn’t run when there isn’t demand.
- Less waiting time at the bus stops.
This service is currently available in Torre Baró, in Vallbona, and in the Montbau, Vall d’Hebron, Farró and Galvany neighbourhoods.
It is expected to extend to more areas in the city over the coming years, thereby grouping together several neighbourhood bus lines to improve their service.
