With workshops, tours and activities, this event aims to promote urban allotments among the public and allow people to enjoy unique green spaces in the city. It is essential to sign up in advance for activities at each of the allotments.

This weekend, 28 and 29 October, brings a new edition of the “48H Agriculture and Urban Greenery” to Barcelona, a festival organised by the Replantem association with the participation of Mans al Verd, from the Municipal Institute for Parks and Gardens, and the support of Barcelona City Council and the Besòs Consortium.

The event includes various initiatives such as tours, activities and workshops open to all, enabling local people to get free access to urban allotments and discover these green spaces first hand.

Barcelona is part of a group of cities which have been celebrating this festival for years, like others in France, Belgium and Switzerland.

Also taking part are the Connecthort, which will be focusing on composting, and the Font de la Guatlla allotment.

Elsewhere, community and/or social allotments in the districts are also offering activities and workshops, such as the market allotment at the Vall d’Hebron, the Clot allotment, and the the Pla i Armengol allotment. Similarly, the Tros d’en Marcel·lí will also be holding children’s workshops.

The other participants are the Lluïsos de Gràcia allotment, the Nau Bostik allotment, the Hortikthe Kàlida allotment, explaining the social culture of allotments, and Can Calopa, which offers us the chance to discover farm life at this country house and estate.
