A green half-marathon for all the family with the 31st CEC-Collserola Fun Run

12/12/2022 - 16:00 h

The event is being held in Collserola on Sunday, 18 December, promoting the conservation of the environment and including a series of parallel runs to suit all ages and allow the whole family to take part.

The CEC-Collserola sets off at 9 am from the Escola Sant Gregori. The route covers 22 kilometres and makes its way all around the mountain, following a similar path to previous editions. However, some variations have been made to adapt it to the tracks and paths authorised by the Parc de Collserola. With 900 metres in ascent/descent, 70% of the route goes along tracks and 30% along small paths and gullies.

The event hasfour different categories: Full, Sub-23, Master 40 (from 40 to 55) and Master 55 (as from 55). A prize will be awarded to the winning man and woman in each category at the end of the day.

As a way of including youngsters in the city, the Club Excursionista de Catalunya (CEC), the main organiser for the event, has come up with the ‘Curses Raions’: a series of runs for children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 17. The routes for each run are adapted to the possibilities of each age group and combine tracks, paths and gullies with a much more moderate ascent/descent. Through this practice, the CEC seeks to foster the values that sport brings, such as solidarity, respect for the environment, effort and fun.
