California pepper tree

Carrer d'Eduardo Conde, 8

Observations:
At the Vil·la Amèlia, when the estate was purchased by means of an agreement with the City Council, this California pepper tree had stood for many years in a short double row at the entrance of the gardens. After restoration work to adapt the area for public use, the old trees at the entrance began to die one by one. Now that it is well-supported and looked after, it is possible that this surviving California pepper tree may live for many more years, living proof – unseen to date in the city- of the natural aging process of this species.
