Chinese fan palm

Pl Vila de Madrid, 11

Observations: The Chinese fan palm is native to China. It grows very slowly and has fan-shaped leaves and a slightly curved, singular trunk. At the end of the last century, the presence of a Chinese fan palm in a private garden was a sign of class, elegance and good taste. Today, in the Ateneu Barcelonès patio, we can find a wonderful specimen of the Chinese fan tree in a ceramic parterre surrounding a central fountain. It is a perpetual presence, like a veritable museum piece, evoking the romantic and unforgettable atmosphere of another era.
