When the degree of deterioration of the objects in the collections requires it or when some previous interventions make it difficult to understand the reading of the work, the conservation-restoration interventions of the affected works are launched, based on a pre-established protocol. Finally, this department establishes actions in emergency situations.

The priorities of the conservation-restoration interventions are determined, firstly, by the Museum's projects and, secondly, by the requests for works on temporary loan for external exhibitions and by the works displayed in its own temporary exhibitions.
