Contemporary dance
For all audiences
Three people confront what it is they want from life and the fears that stand in their way, boxes within boxes that have no walls; metal structures with invisible walls that are a space both of restriction and freedom. Inside, two dancers and a musician find changes, experiences and struggles.
We All Live in a Box is an interdisciplinary work where the lines between contemporary dance, live music and scenography become blurred. The interaction between performers and boxes is visually stimulating, as the audience can see how they adapt their movements to the space. The show is a direct challenge: it invites us to reflect on our own lives, bounded as they are by our ideals and beliefs. How do we deal with the boxes that shape, challenge or limit us, that create barriers? How does the box we identify with affect others, and society in general?
Founded by dancer and choreographer Arina Lannoo and musician and composer Tito Ripoll, the Ambae Company's work explores personal and social issues from an artistic perspective. Their aim is to inspire us to reflect both on life and on ourselves.
