Ceramics and glass rooms
Ceramics and glass rooms
Frederic Marès, continuing the ceramic collecting tradition that was consolidated in Catalonia at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th with figures such as Rusiñol, Rocamora, Güell i López or Bertran i Musitu, became interested in Hispanic production and gathered almost a thousand pieces that are presented in five of the rooms of the collector's office.
The distribution and presentation of these ceramic collections obeys Marès' personal taste, and often responds more to aesthetic criteria than to a chronological, stylistic or production center interest. Water dispensers, pharmacy jars, heraldic or trade tiles, devotional panels, plates, honey jars, bowls, inkwells, spices, among others. Polychrome pisa in metallic reflection, monochrome, green or blue. From Talavera de la Reina, Puente del Arzobispo, Toledo, Paterna, Manises, Valencia, L'Alcora, Teruel, Muel, Villafeliche, Almazán, Triana, Barcelona or Reus.
